About me

My name is Svetlana Strokova. I am a psychologist, psychotherapist, and a candidate of psychological sciences(PhD). I work in a client-centered approach of coexpiriencing psychotherapy, which means that a caring and safe space is created at every session. In such conditions, as show not only my experience but also the experience of my colleagues and teachers, honest and open self-exploration is possible, particularly finding one's own path in addressing the problems and life tasks that lead a person to seek help from a psychologist.
I was born and worked for a long time in the Moscow region, in the city of Ramenskoye. But in 2022, I moved to Spain, and now I mostly work online, but also have a small office in Valencia for face-to-face consultations.

Education
I obtained my basic psychological education by graduating from the Moscow State Linguistic University in 2010. Two years later, I entered the graduate school at the Moscow State Psychological and Pedagogical University, defended my doctoral dissertation on the topic "Family identity of adolescents from different types of families."
I was fortunate to receive psychotherapeutic education at the School of Coexperiencing Psychotherapy under Fedor Yefimovich Vasilyuk. This approach seemed to me to be the most methodologically rigorous, profound, and effective. I completed all 5 stages of training in the Coexperiencing Psychotherapy course.
In addition, I underwent additional training in clinical psychology, and other courses like: using of drawing techniques in working with children and adolescents, body-oriented psychotherapy, working with MAC (Metaphoric Associative Cards), and other important courses for my work.

Work Experience
For a long time, I worked at school with children and adolescents. Then I started working in a state institution providing psychological assistance. In 2018, I opened my own psychological center "Happy Person," where I continue to be the director and have practice, focusing more on working with adults and adolescents.
In addition, since 2020, I have taught for 3 years at the Moscow Institute of Psychoanalysis, and have also been an invited lecturer at the Moscow Psychological-Pedagogical University. But after my move to Spain it became impossible to work for a state University. And then due to the birth of a child in 2023, I also had to give up teaching at the Moscow Institute of Psychoanalysis.

Who I Work With
I work individually with adolescents and adults. LGBT-friendly. I have quite a lot of experience in working with people who come with problems of relationships, loss of interest and meaning in life, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, traumatic experiences, and stress. Also, quite often people come to me who want to find their way in life, determine what they really want to keep in their life, and what it is better to let go of in order to authentically live their lives.
